You might need a passport for Dubai's secretive new hot spot

Despite an online presence about as mysterious as the Bermuda Triangle, Somewhere - the eatery that's just set up shop in the new Dubai Mall Fashion Avenue wing - is making a splash all over our Instagram feeds. And if you're one of the chosen few they hand pick, you might even be lucky enough to receive a personalised restaurant ‘travel kit’ delivered to you prior to your visit, complete with a passport invitation, boarding pass and branded compass. So far, so intriguing...

With a concept based on our inner nomads, Manager Akshay Parab tells Grazia that Somewhere is all about “going on a journey as a traveller and getting lost in different cuisines.” The owners, on their tour of Lebanon a year prior, experienced 'the curiosity of travel', leading to the conception of something even more curious... the restaurant itself.

What we can expect though, is the place acting as our new mode of transportation to different cuisines - minus the jet lag. Think guacamole hummus and shrimp kunafa; eclectic fusion with Mediterranean undertones. And with their best sellers being Chicken Uzzi Puff Pastry Rice and Shawarma Bao, it’s safe to say this might be the quirkiest restaurant concept we've seen here yet.
