How have Dubai workers been thanked for helping build the city?

Building a city is no small task. Building a city in 40 degrees is an entirely different ball game.

With this in mind, on 1 May it's International Labour Day, and roughly 10,000 packs containing essentials from soaps, shampoos and a cap to shield workers from the sun will be provided in reusable bags.

Put simply, the #PackToGiveBack campaign is a way of honouring Dubai workers for their commitment and dedication to building the city; an ingenious idea as part of Shams Emaar’s #BuildingCommunities initiative.

Managing Director of Emaar Properties Ahmad Al Matrooshi tells Grazia, “This simple gesture goes a long way for the people who work tirelessly to build our society."

He adds, "We will continue to roll out various #BuildingCommunities initiatives, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan, to foster stronger bonding with the workers and the community."

Last month, Shams Dubai hosted over 2,000 workers at weekly #BuildingCommunities events held at RISE Dubai Creek Harbour. Workers were treated to an evening of entertainment and food with activities including karaoke, competitions, and an open-air movie screening.
