Oh Happy Day: Why the UAE's Happiness Journey has put a smile on our face

If it’s managed to escape your attention thus far, today is International Happiness Day, and if the thought of that alone isn’t enough to perk you up, we suggest getting down to d3 today for the last day of the UAEs Happiness Journey

Forget Disneyland, this looks like the happiest place on Earth to us.

Called ‘The Happiness Journey’ to remind us all that happiness isn’t as much a destination as it is a journey of continuous learning, the annual event is culminating today with a talk at 5.35pm by author Hanus Samro on how failure actually can equal success; a lecture at 7.50pm by happiness and wellbeing specialist, Lesley Lyle on why mindfulness matters now; and another at 8.20pm by TV presenter, Andreea Zoia on how best to voice your happiness.

Very happy installations at the Happiness Park in d3

The idea behind it all is to encourage us to celebrate the values of optimism, compassion, wisdom, mindfulness and kindness – every day, not just today. We feel happier already.
