It seems as though nothing can drain the creative juices of the artistic minds, not even a pandemic.
Art Dubai launched its new online programme on 23 March 2020 and has been developing showcases and live stream broadcasts to celebrate creativity in efforts to inspire us during this challenging time. It’s new online exhibition series also involves initiatives and multicultural communities streaming live performances and talks alongside the eclectic display of digital galleries.
Photographer Hassan Hajjaj’s pop-art and portrait photography style has earned him the superficial comparison of the “Andy Warhol of Marrakech”. However, a deeper exploration of his work poses questions behind culture appropriation and identity while he attempts to playfully and unconventionally break barriers.
Hajjaj's Art Dubai solo presentation - courtesy of The Third Line - is vibrant, quirky, humorous and nostalgic as it hosts a combination of cultures from Africa, Middle East and the West. Calling all third culture kids and Ikat textile fanatics, this one's for you. Dim the lights and check out his catalogue here.
