What is luxury, really? You’d think we’d know, considering the glitz and glamour that is Dubai. This October at The Louvre Abu Dhabi, discover the ways luxury has been interpreted over thousands of years and what it means to a diverse range of cultures. Learn the history of luxury through 350 breath-taking objects – from offerings to the divine and golden furniture to iconic couture from fashion houses like Chanel and Hermés – and explore what takes an object from ordinary to extraordinary.
Collaborating with French museums including the Museé du Louvre, the exhibition is a rare opportunity to see what real luxury is all about. The museum will also work with performers during the exhibition to pay tribute to the ‘Diva’ (no, not us) – think musical tributes to the past and present definitions of what it means to be a diva.
Make sure to check out the rest of the Louvre too – your general admission ticket gets you access to the exhibition. 10,000 Years of Luxury runs from October 30 to February 18 2020 and you can buy your tickets here.
