If, like us, being in quarantine has made you realise that your main hobby is alternating between Instagram and WhatsApp group chats while half-watching Netflix, then we have good news.
Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) hasn't even opened yet but is already making a big, Jackson Pollock-esque splash on the Dubai art scene by enlisting UAE-based artists, Laila Al Masri and Amrita Sethi to teach impressionist techniques as part of a series of online masterclasses so we can unleash our creativity, while we're social distancing.
First up, Laila will demonstrate how to master Matisse cut-outs and impressionist paintings using - wait for it - materials you can find at home on Tuesday 31 March at 4pm via her Instagram page @lailamasristudioo.
Meanwhile, Amrita will show us how to recreate our own Kandinsky masterpiece at home on Wednesday 1 April at 6pm on her Instagram page @art.by.amrita
Once ToDA Dubai opens in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, expect digital art, multimedia exhibitions and contemporary immersive installations. Visitor will be able to experience masterpieces by the world’s most famous artists courtesy of state-of-the-art digital screens with a stunning soundtrack and awe-inspiring visual effects. Grazia will be first in the queue.
