Calling all literature lovers! Some positive news has made its way to us through all the challenges faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sharjah Public Libraries, an affiliate of the Sharjah Book Authority will soon offer access to its digital library consisting of six million e-books available in more than ten different languages.
Mark your calendars and set those reminders. From April 2020 to June 2020, people from across the globe will be able to download all of which its digital library has to offer. This includes a collection of 30,000 videos, 160,000 e-books, 21,000 scientific studies, five million academic dissertations and theses, a variety of manuscripts, rare books and even audiobooks for those who rather listen.
We’ve already mentally prepared ourselves for all the information and knowledge we plan to absorb in the next three months. “It emphasises that reading, learning, research can continue to prosper even under challenging circumstances, given the remarkable opportunities that modern technology offers.” shared Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority.
