This legendary photographer’s photo series was shot entirely on a smartphone

Instagram users, let’s give a warm welcome to the newest member: Annie Leibovitz! *cheers* The world-renowned American photographer has finally joined the photo-sharing platform and she’s already snapping up great content thanks to her collaboration with Google Pixel. Annie has created a photo series made up of breath-taking portraits of extraordinarily driven individuals changing the landscape of their time.

The legendary photographer is known for dramatic celebrity portraits and her quirky style has made her an icon in the fashion world and beyond, so it’s no surprise she was chosen for the meaningful project.

Some of the amazing individuals participating in the Face Forward series are Noor Tagouri, a Muslim journalist, Bryan Stevenson, an equal justice lawyer, environmental activists Xiuhtezcatl Martinez and Winona LaDuke, Lt. Sarah Zorn, the first woman to serve as the regimental commander of Citadel’s Corps of Cadets, and tech entrepreneur Iddris Sandu. Each person was photographed in the place they live or work in, using only the Google Pixel smartphone – think #shotonmyiphone but way, way better.

And to think we can’t even use ours to get a good picture of our morning coffee.
