Calling all future filmmakers!

Ever dreamed of being the next Nayla Al Khaja? We've got good news. Sharjah Art Foundation wants you to join in the footsteps of the world's greatest filmmakers, with Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) Short Film Production Grant.

The Sharjah Film Platform is an annual film festival organised by Sharjah Art Foundation to support the art scene within the United Arab Emirates as well as internationally. Your chance to make it in the industry is here - to help you kick-start your picture career, the Sharjah Film Platform Short Film Production Grant gives filmmakers a total of up to $30,000 to produce their original short films whether it's an ongoing project, or or an entirely new concept, SFP helps you fund it.

To apply, you will need to submit a three-minute video. Let your mind wander and express your creative vision. The rules? Anything goes! Be bold and talk as the director, send in a trailer, or a compilation of your previous works, there are no rules to the format and content of your application video, which are to be submitted via a Vimeo, or a YouTube link.

Think about the genre, themes, setting and characters of your short film, because you will also need to submit the plot of your short film.  Again, anything goes - narratives, documentaries, or experimental. What's more, international applications are also welcome! You can apply by 15 March 2020.

The last step? Time to roll the red carpet and show the world what you've got. Once you receive your grant, your film will premiere at the next edition of Sharjah Film Platform, Sharjah Art Foundation’s annual film festival, in December 2020. Your debuting film has to be original, 50 minutes, or less, including all credits and completed by 20 November 2020.

With all that said, there's only one question left. What are you waiting for? Grab your camera and show Sharjah you have what it takes to be one of the film industry's brightest talents of the future.
