From buildings to brunches, Dubai doesn’t like to do things by halves.
And now the emirate will make history as one of the seven countries taking part in Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream, a 10-hour live musical broadcast in September.
Conceived by the Global Citizen movement, the concert will take place over six continents and is part of its efforts to end extreme poverty by 2030.
His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, the UAE’s minister of cabinet affairs and the future and secretary general of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) announced that Dubai will be the seventh city to take part in the historic music broadcast at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
And taking to Instagram, Global Citizen added, “The rumors are true — #GlobalGoalLive: The Possible Dream is heading to Dubai on Sept. 26, 2020! This is just one of the many amazing announcements made on Tuesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland”.
Headliners include Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Lizzo, Pharell Williams and Red Hot Chili Peppers, however details about who will take to the stage in Dubai have not been revealed just yet.
