VOX Cinemas and Reel Cinemas will be raising their curtains from Wednesday 27 May following the recent ruling by Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.
All establishments have taken extensive precautionary measures and have implemented enhanced safety protocols to make sure guests and employees can enjoy the safest experience possible. Fogging machines are currently being used to sanitise large areas and staff are cleaning and sterilise surfaces after each and every guest interaction, paying carefully attention to high touch points such as counters, points of sale, and payment terminals.
Cameron Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas and Majid Al Futtaim Leisure & Entertainment declares, “With the continued support of the United Arab Emirates government, I am confident in our ability to navigate these unprecedented times together. Our staff have demonstrated resilience in addressing the challenges of this unique period, and I’m extremely proud of their remarkable efforts that will now allow our entertainment experiences to reopen safely. To address any concerns that people may have, we have designed an extensive range of new measures to ensure a healthy, safe and comfortable experience for all. We look forward to welcoming our valued guests back and creating great moments together again.”
Meanwhile, at Reel Cinemas, prevention and safety rules include temperature checks before entry, mandatory face masks, hand sanitising, new contactless booking methods such as online purchases, social distancing of two metres apart, seating measures inside the theatre, and additional precaution and safety measures in accordance with the UAE COVID-19 safety requirements. Children under 12 and adults over 60 will not be permitted according to the UAE precaution and safety measures in public areas.
