The infamous Anna Delvey story is being made into a Netflix show

She has nearly 70,000 Instagram followers and her bio simply states, “Retired Intern”, but if you followed the Anna Delvey story in 2018, you’ll that there’s much more to the influencer than meets the eye.

Delvey, real name, Anna Sorokin, scammed New York socialites out of thousands of dollars and established herself as a German heiress thanks to claims of a $67 million trust fund.

She even fooled Vanity Fair photo editor, Rachel DeLoache Williams, into lending her $62,000, as detailed in her best-selling book, My Friend Anna.

However, in 2017 things came to a head and the Russian-born con artist was charged with grand larceny and theft of services. This May was sentenced to four to 12 years behind bars.

The story sounds stranger than fiction because it is, and has more plot twists than all the Harry Potter films put together, which is probably why Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes, has been commissioned by Netflix to write and produce a new show based on the story.

Directed by The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel, the series of 10 episodes named Inventing Anna will star Emmy-winning Ozark actress Julia Garner as Sorokin, Anna Chlumsky as a reporter who uncovers the truth, and Laverne Cox as a life coach to the stars.

No release date has been set just yet so fans of the saga will have to hang in there a little bit longer to relive all the drama.

But we have a feeling it'll be worth the wait.
