From fireworks displays to tantalising food menus, there's a lot to love about Diwali.
And this year, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the festival of lights around the UAE.
The five days of Diwali are Dhanteras (Day of Fortune), Narak Chaturdasi (Day of Knowledge), Diwali (Day of Light), Annakut (New Year) and Bhai Dooj (day of love between siblings), and in most places, festivities are kicking off on Sunday 27th October.
Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s entertainment hub, has announced it will celebrate Diwali from 24th October until 2nd November.
Diwali firework shows will take place at 9pm every evening during Yas Mega Mela Festival which will also see Bollywood performance by Junaid Currimbhoy, Kanika Kapoor, and Ankit Tiwari, and cooking demonstrations with Chef Vicky Ratnani and Chef Sandeep Sreedharan.
In Dubai, The Pointe, Al Seef and Kite Beach will all host fireworks displays, and Global Village, the multi-cultural festival park will be celebrating Diwali in spectacular fashion on 29th October, with more than 240 food stalls.
And in Sharjah, Flag Island, the outdoor destination on Khalid Lagoon, is hosting a nine-hour Indian night. The cultural extravaganza will feature Bollywood dancers, local and international bands, fashion shows and food stalls.
