The first public holiday in the UAE in 2020 will officially be on New Year’s Day.
According to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, public and private sector workers will have Wednesday 1 January off, with work resuming on Thursday 2 January.
Following the mid-week break, we’ll still have a ways to go before our next long weekend, falling in May in celebration of Eid Al Fitr.
While Eid Al Fitr and Ramadan holidays fall in May, the vast majority of public holidays in 2020 will fall in the last six months of the year.
