Early in the morning on Sunday 26 July, a warehouse belonging to Kibsons was swiftly evacuated after a forklift truck hit a main cooling pipe.
Thankfully, no one was injured but the accident did cause serious damage to the fresh fruit and vegetables, leaving them exposed to an airborne cooling agent.
Operations have now been suspended, customers have been updated by email and current orders refunded. Staff are not yet able to safely access the premises, meaning home delivery will sadly have to be suspended for the rest of the week.
After sharing the news on Instagram, the firm released a statement explaining, “Kibsons remains committed to providing the freshest quality and the highest standard for food and safety, as well as ensuring the overall safety and wellbeing of all employees and the team is working diligently to assess the extent of the damage to enable them to recover from this unfortunate situation at the very earliest.”
Grazia wishes everybody involved a safe return to work.
