"Etihad Airways has been operating special flights which have allowed passengers stranded in the UAE due to COVID-19 restrictions, the opportunity to return home. The flights also support the ‘UAE Food Security Program’ by utilising belly-hold capacity of passenger aircraft for cargo," Etihad shared in a statement.
Due to the directives of the General Civil Aviation Authority, a ban on regular inbound and outbound flights had been implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19. These special outbound flights are one-way journeys enabling stranded individuals in the UAE to return to their countries of residence while repatriating Emirati citizens abroad, and simultaneously importing fresh cargo and produce.
To book an Etihad special flight from Abu Dhabi visit its website here or call the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on +971 600 555 666. You may also book flights through the Etihad mobile app or with a local travel agency.
UAE nationals who wish to return back to the UAE must contact the UAE embassy or consulate in order to book a special flight.
