There's no denying it - Dubai is getting cooler. (Insert temperature joke here). In terms of the edgy offerings popping up across the city, we really are going from strength to strength.
Case in point: Zabeel House by Jumeirah Al Seef. Imposing and modern, the 200-room hotel has opened along the shores of Dubai's much-loved creek and houses smart design features, laidback dining facilities and quirky traits throughout.
Grazia was one of the first to walk through Zabeel House's doors, and this is what we found during our exclusive tour: On entering the open-plan lobby, you're greeted by human statues raising their lamp shade hats to you before being offered a ginger shot while checking in. The colour scheme throughout is super neutral and the rooms contrast old and new (think retro alarm clocks next to state-of-the-art coffee machines) brilliantly.
The hotel's concept is all about encouraging guests to experience its historic surroundings. Translations of the word "explore" are littered throughout the lobby and the location is designed for you to be able to investigate Downtown Dubai, Dubai Mall and the beaches of Jumeirah with ease. Winning.
What we took from the tour is this: Zabeel House Al Seef is definitely catering for the younger generation. The price point is hugely appealing (Just Dhs297 plus taxes per night) and there's a gym and rooftop pool with incredibly - dare we say it - Instagrammable views across old and new Dubai.
Zabeel House can best be defined by two words: upscale and casual. We're into it.
