Ever wondered what it's like to experience a traditional Emirati wedding? Then you're in luck. Part of Al Ain Palace Museum, Abu Dhabi's My Heritage, My Responsibility series which celebrates Emirati culture, on 24 and 25 January from 5pm - 9pm, you can witness the long-lived traditions of a true Emirati wedding at this unique event.
In addition to the traditional nuptials, there'll be festive performances, heritage Souq art workshops, cultural games and competitions. You can also sample a wide range of Emirati dishes, and of course, peek at the bride’s gifts and belongings for her first night of married life, also known as Miskaar night.
Prior to 1966, Al Ain Palace Museum was the residence of the late the late Sheikh Zayed and his family. Now converted into a museum, you can have an intimate glimpse of the ruler’s fort. And the Bedouin style architecture will surely wow your Instagram followers, too.
