All good things come to those who wait - and it looks as if The World's Greatest Show is no exception.
Following in the footsteps of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, there is a possibility that a year-long postponement could be on the cards for Expo 2020 Dubai.
On the decision to explore a one-year postponement, Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai, said in a statement released today that key UAE and international stakeholders had been consulted about the ongoing impact of COVID-19. "The global situation is fast moving, and remains unpredictable," she noted. "While they remain firmly committed to Expo 2020, many countries have been significantly impacted by COVID-19 and they therefore expressed a need to postpone the opening of Expo 2020 by one year to enable them to overcome this challenge."
