We all want to escape the city during Christmas break so we can unwind and spend time with loved ones, but hopping on a plane for a short holiday isn’t always an option. Enter: JA Hatta Fort Hotel. Just an hour drive from the heart of Dubai, you can enjoy the getaway you dreamed of without having to leave the ground.
You’ll be spoiled for choice this festive season thanks to their packed schedule of events that every member of the family can enjoy. Kick off the celebrations in Santa’s Village and watch the Christmas tree lighting while listening to the Hatta Christmas Carollers and indulging in Christmas pudding, mulled grape and festive canapes. From December 13 to 24, guests can also choose an ornament from the Christmas tree to unlock their festive gift, which includes dining vouchers, experiences and stays across JA Resorts and Hotels.
Spend some quality time with your loved ones at the festive movie nights by the pool – complete with seasonal snacks – or unleash your creativity with cookie-making classes with Mrs. Claus on December 22 and 23.
From December 22 to 28, foodies can experience a luxurious holiday meal prepared just for you at the Chef’s Table at Gazebo Restaurant - talk about personalised service. The menu is bursting with traditional flavours, from turkey with all the trimmings (created from ingredients from JA Hatta Fort’s own bio-farm, no less) fruit-cake, mince pies and everything in between. Oh, and don’t forget the Christmas punch.
Count down to the main event with Gazebo’s Christmas Eve buffet and get your fill of festive treats – think traditional turkey, an oyster bar, cheese bars, herb-crusted salmon and, of course, a shawarma station (and that’s not even everything). Enjoy your meal with the backdrop of the breath-taking Hajar Mountains while listening to the musical stylings of the Harmonics. You’ll even get a visit from the big man himself – that’s Santa, FYI.
The festivities continue on Christmas Day with a spectacular brunch full of all your favourite festive dishes and more (and more… and more) adorning the buffet tables. If you’d prefer to be served at your table – we probably wouldn’t be able to get up after eating all week long – you can indulge in a five-course set menu.
After all that celebrating, you’ll definitely need some time to rest and, luckily, JA Hatta Fort has all the spa treatments you can imagine at their serene Senses Beauty Centre. Treat yourself to the Merry and Bright massage to nourish skin and reduce stretch marks, or relieve overworked joints with the Silent Night deep-tissue treatment that’ll help you sleep like a baby. If you’re feeling adventurous, opt for the Jingle Bell Rock hot stone massage or relieve some holiday stress with the Christmas Morning thirty-minute tension-relieving massage. We’ll take them all, please.
Finally, ring in the New Year at one of the resort’s three venues; enjoy a low-key international buffet at Jeema Restaurant, a liquid-fuelled celebration at the Romoul Bar or a full international buffet spread at Margham Hall. Recover on January 1 by taking a dip in (both of) JA Hatta Fort’s pools or by spending the day at the spa – you’ll definitely be the most rested person in the office come Sunday.
