Didn't manage to scavenge your way into Glastonbury? Fret not, the next best thing in alternative music is right on your doorstep.
While Saudi has seen a whole host of performances by some huge international acts over the past year or so, the Kingdom is now shining a light on its homegrown alternative musicians.
Bahrain-based concert series MuseNight is heading over to the Kingdom on 24 January at the Bohemia Art Cafe in Alkhobar with a line-up including Khaleeji electronic duo Arabesque, singer-songwriter Aveora and experimental electronic artist Hasan Hujairi.
“With the incredible changes to the cultural and creative landscape happening in the Kingdom, we felt it was the right time to explore the alternative and independent scene with this concept,” founder of indie label Museland and creative director Ali Al-Saeed explained in a press release for the event.
“There’s a wealth of exceptional talent that is eager to evolve, and an audience that is just as eager to discover new music,” he said.
