Calling all Chai-lovers: there's a new challenge for how to serve up the best chai

The relaxing feeling of settling down with a nice cup of tea is a universal joy, and we think me might have found the perfect setting to do it in: introducing Project Chaiwala in Media City. The ethically-sourced chai comes from organic gardens and is freshly brewed, enjoy it in the colouful canteen-style dining spot, complete with retro Indian wallpaper and Bollywood-style film posters.

But the main attraction here, aside from the choice of delicious signature, karak, masala, zaffrani and sulamani teas - not to mention the very clever Nimbu Pani lime soda and the tumeric latte - is the playful staff and the challenge they set all the customers.

The 'chai-llenge' is to pour your own tea into a cup while moving the traditional kettle as far away from the cup as possible, lifting it further and further into the air. Apparently, it's supposed to make the tea taste better - as far as we're concerned it makes excellent Instagram content and it's probably the best cuppa in Dubai.

Also look out for Project Chaiwala cinema nights - where the homegrown business shows films of regional interest.
