That's right: the best of Dubai dining is collaborating this week to aid those struggling in Lebanon.
On Sunday 30 August, restaurants, delivery platforms and fast-food outlets have teamed up to offer a percentage of each bill (from 30 to 100 per cent) to Beirut-based charities, as well as giving guests the option to add their own donation. The event will last from 8am to 3am raising both funds for those affected by the tragic explosion but also awareness of the influence of Lebanese culture on our daily lives. In association with the Lebanese Business Council in Dubai, all donations raised will be organised through the Emirates Red Crescent.
The inspiring idea is the thought-child of a group of hospitality operators who have fostered a business ecosystem to provide an innovative way to drive donations for such a worthy cause.
Including an eclectic melange of options, from affordable all the way to premium, the project has done its best to make this an accessible and inclusive initiative. At this stage, over 50 restaurants have confirmed they will be participating, but you can expect many more to be announced soon. The project aims to raise Dhs10 million in funds, so every donation is appreciated. For more information visit savebeirutae.com or instagram.com/savebeirutae/ for the full list of collaborating brands.
