Dubai authorities have confirmed that there’s going to be a dry night in Dubai this weekend.
In accordance with an order issued to hotels and restaurants across the city by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), licensed venues must refrain from serving alcohol from 5.30pm on Friday 8, November until 6.30pm on Saturday, 9 November.
No alcohol will be displayed in bars or restaurants either, and some venues will remain closed for the entire 25-hour period.
The dry night falls the day before the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, which makes Saturday a public holiday.
So if you’ve got dinner plans or reservations made for this weekend, you might want to check with the venue in advance before venturing out.
