'Hyperlocal' is the new brunch buzzword you need to know

Brunch ennui is real. It's a thing. Yes, there are brunch options in Dubai almost as bottomless as the drinks on offer, but - allow us to get a little #firstworldproblems here for a minute - they can all get a bit samey, can't they?

That's why Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet's entirely locally sourced brunch really made our hearts sing - not only because its concept is substantially different from the rest - but because it speaks to two things we love to champion; sustainability, and supporting local businesses and talents.

Le Gourmet is home to 11 kitchens, each from different countries - but every dish is made from homegrown produce sourced from local organic farmers. This includes grain-fed chicken to Emirati oysters from Dibba Bay, and microgreens from the region’s only indoor vertical farm. To name a few others, these guys work with and source ingredients from Greenheart Organic Farm, Al Badia Farm and Al Rawda.

  • Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet’s brunch is hosted every Friday from 12.30 - 3.30pm at The Dubai Mall. The buffet offers plant-based options. Dhs175 for adults and Dhs85 for kids.
