We couldn’t be more ready for the festive season – the weather is cooling down, Christmas decorations are slowly popping up around the city and we may or may not already have our tree up. The real sign that Christmas is on the way? The Madinat Jumeirah Festive Market. Every long-time Dubai resident knows about this festive gem full of activities the whole family can enjoy, and we eagerly await its return every winter. Plus, it’s always fun to get those “They have Christmas trees in Dubai?!” remarks from visiting out-of-towners.
A traditional festive market – without the freezing temperatures and runny noses – you can expect traditional treats, seasonal beverages and stall-lined pathways for you to merrily meander through while resisting the urge to shop. Let little ones experience a winter wonderland in the giant snowball zone or help them create their own gingerbread houses – just try not to eat all the supplies. They can also hop aboard the North Pole mini train or take a traditional Abra ride through winding canals with Santa himself. Now that’s what we call doing Christmas Dubai style.
All in all, Madinat's festive market is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. And, if a 36ft tree doesn’t do it, the mulled grape definitely will.
