This Dubai hotspot is bringing The Beat back thanks to these local stars

Iraqi R'n'B singer Shébani

Saudi blogger and radio host Big Hass is bringing us the second edition of The Beat DXB, an event that gives regional musicians an opportunity to perform live and showcase their skills - and we can't wait.

Big Hass’s determination to nourish the independent music scene and his hunger for authentic local talent prompted him to start The Beat in Jeddah in 2013. After the success of The Beat DXB’s first edition in March this year, he's back and bringing us even more talent from across the region.

DJ Sizer will be warming up the crowd from 7pm and getting us ready to be blown away by an evening of extraordinarily talented vocalists. Kicking off the night is Saudi singer Roya, followed by Syrian singer/songwriter Ghaliaa, Iraqi R'n'B singer Shébani and the Emirati Fafa. Rappers Molham, 249TooDope and more will perform as part of a designated segment where they can showcase their skills (and remind us that we aren’t rappers just because we know a verse or two of an Eminem song off by heart).

The Beat DXB will take place on 9 November at none other than The Fridge Warehouse at Alserkal Avenue – the thriving creative arts hub that has become one of the coolest hangouts in the city. You can get your tickets online, when the event website goes live, or on the door for Dhs20 per person.

  • 9 November, 7-10.30pm, The Fridge Warehouse 5, Al Serkal Avenue
