As a rule here at Grazia, we don't have a huge issue with objectifying men here and there, especially ones of such discernible and wide-reaching talent as Idris Elba. Yes, we're gushing and we're not even sorry. But the reason for this outburst is the announcement that on Wednesday 2 May, Idris will be DJing at Gotha's GOTCHA night; the American Gangster edition. We, in turn, will be there with various bells on, taking full advantage of the complimentary drinks for ladies until 1am.
A potted history of Idris Elba's glorious multifaceted talent: as well as producing, performing and featuring in over 40 films (casual), he has also won a Golden Globe (double casual), co-directed Mumford and Sons' Lover of the Light, featured in the music video for Macklemore's Dance Off, co-produced and performed on the intro to Jay-Z's album American Gangster, rapped on Skepta's Shutdown, opened the Germany leg of Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour and also found time to release two of his own albums.
It's safe to say we're fans. See you on the dancefloor!
