Dubai lifts restrictions for over 60s and under 12s

Mohammad Bin Rashid Library is now open to all

Dubai has eased the lockdown for all residents including the elderly: over 60, as well as the children who are under the age of 12. In addition to malls, Dubai is once again now ready to welcome all ages to public libraries, private museums and art galleries as well. Locations including swimming pools, fitness centres, water parks, camp sites, children play areas, beaches and 3-D and 4-D cinemas are also reopening, but with precautions in place.

Note that rules for other emirates may vary: “Adults up to the age of 70 can enter malls, but the lower age limit of children under 12 is still in force for other emirates," flagged Dr Amna Al Dhahak, spokeswoman for the UAE health sector.

Dr Farida Al Hosani, spokesperson for the UAE government, advises, “We should continue protecting ourselves through adhering to the precautionary measures, boost our immune system through health lifestyles-including balanced diets and exercise, protect our families and community and to take care of family or anyone who have chronic diseases.”
