Don’t undeck the halls and throw away your Christmas tree until you’ve read this

If you’re planning on officially closing the chapter on Christmas and embracing 2019 (and let’s be honest, you probably should be), we can all start the New Year by giving back to the environment and recycling our temporarily loved tree.

Innovative online garden centre My Green Chapter has teamed up with food waste consultancy Terraloop and security service Nanjgel to introduce a Christmas tree collection service across all cities in the UAE this month. Why is this such a crucial act? Recycling trees prevents them from accumulating in landfill sites, and instead the stockpile of trees will be shredded and recycled for landscaping mulch and the sawdust will be used as an absorbent in the automotive industry preventing oil spills.

It doesn’t matter whether you purchased your Christmas tree from My Green Chapter or elsewhere in the UAE, simply place an order for collection online for Dhs100 and not only will the greenery be taken off your hands, customers will also receive a Dhs50 gift voucher to spend on any of My Green Chapter products before 31 January. Happy days.

Bookings can be made at mygreenchapter.com. The tree collection is scheduled between 6 - 13 of January
