With another long weekend approaching, it's not uncommon for us to believe we might be running out of things to do. Perhaps restaurant deals and hotel stay-cations are getting a little repetitive, and we want to be thrown fresh ideas on where to be this weekend.

Luckily, we've rounded up three exciting going-ons in the city that is worth checking:

1. The Ultimate Boy Band Reunion:

This is for all the avid boy band fans looking for a place to rock out to their favourite heartbreak hits. Theatre by QE2 is the place you need to be if you're in the mood to swoon over some classic Backstreet Boys jam. Four incredibly talented singers will perform chart-topping hits by One Direction, Boyzone, Westlife, NSYNC, Take That, The Wanted and more, so ready yourselves for a trip to memory lane and enjoy the ambiant night.

2. For a productive weekend:

Amidst all the stress and the pressure should lie our need for a productive, yet relaxing me-time, and what better way to unwind than to get creative? If you fancy some sneaker designing or miniature modelling, you need to head out to Dubai Design District and check out their creative calendar, packed with art workshops and activities. There will be interior design, film, and architecture workshops for any one to try out, plus a VR session if stepping back from reality sounds good to you.

Check out their website for timings.

3. Movie Night:

You can't be blamed for being lazy this weekend, so if an entertainment night sounds good to you, Alserkal Avenue has got you covered. It's all about bonding and wholesome laughs with your family this weekend, where you will get the chance to witness an uplifting German comedy, 'The Pasta Detectives'. Directed by Neele Leana Vollmar, 'The Pasta Detectives' is based on Andreas Steinhofel’s best-selling novel, and though the film itself focuses on the life of a 10-year-old kid, it's something people of all ages can enjoy.

Head on to their website for more info.
