How to heal collective trauma in the aftermath of the Beirut blast

In addition to the death toll and destruction, the blasts in Beirut will come at a huge cost to the people of Lebanon, the Lebanese diaspora, and the wider region on a financial, economic, cultural and spiritual level. Mindful ME has recognised this and is offering free 30-minute sessions throughout the month of August to those affected.

In a post on Instagram, Mindful ME announced, "For yourself or friends and loved ones, the Mindful ME team are offering free-of-charge 30 min sessions during the month of August, for all people impacted by the devastation in Beirut. For all affected by the trauma, for those feeling the frustration of helplessness, hopelessness, loss, grief and despair,  for those needing a warm, trusted and confidential space, please know our willingness to be beside you in this time, offering the safe and supportive care we are well known for."

Founding member Helen Williams tells Grazia, "The healing of collective trauma can take place as each soul consciously restores their own inner trauma story and offers their own personal healing in service to each other."

She adds, "MindfulME is motivated to offer free sessions to those affected by the tragedy in Beirut because it brings something practical to the hopelessness and despair the situation has created for those who love Lebanon and its people. It feels meaningless to offer only words when we would like to be there with them, offering comfort and care and working alongside the people in their suffering. Mindful ME is so greatly enriched by the numerous Lebanese people who take part in our workshops and community."
