In the city of superlatives, bigger is often seen as better. Not so when it comes to Nasab, a members-only workspace and social club set to open its doors in Dubai in September. “Nasab is an Arabic word which refers to one’s lineage, tribe, connection and relationship to others over time,” Mohammed Bin Zaal, Founder and CEO of KOA Dubai, and the driving force behind the exclusive new space, tells Grazia. “The word was chosen to represent our space as we are focused on community and bringing together like-minded individuals.”
Nasab’s inner circle will be screened according to their experience, achievements, and what they can bring to the table. “The idea is to have members whose experience could benefit those around those them,” Mohammed explains. “It’s not about age parameters as much as it is having a mature and forward-thinking mindset and bringing a group of people together that challenge the status quo.”
The chosen few will have access to: private offices and open-plan desk spaces, meeting rooms with conferencing facilities; a purpose-built screening room that can be transformed into an amphitheatre-style cinema or private exhibition space; the library lounge; the communal pool; limo and dry cleaning services, a fitness studio with a timetable of classes and more importantly, private treatment rooms for on-demand spa services over three floors of open-air loft-style surroundings.
Membership tiers are targeted at those who require: a fully furnished office space; a 24/7 dedicated desk; an hot desk during evenings and weekends; or non-Dubai residents in need of a hot desk 10 days a month. Mohammed adds, “We’re creating an environment where you are surrounded by like-minded individuals, all pushing boundaries. We’re excited about the work that will be produced from this and the community that will develop within it.” The Grazia girls will be in the library if you need us.
