I remember exactly where I was when I first heard the name Shahira Yusuf. It was Modest Fashion Weekend at Yas Mall Abu Dhabi at the end of 2017, and modesty advocate Mariah Idrissi – the first hijabi model to score a high-street fashion campaign, and now the Grazia Girl Gang ambassador for the modest movement – told me about Storm Model Management's latest signing, a girl she felt that could really make an impact on the fashion world.

"I ain't no Kendall Jenner but I'm a black Muslim girl from east London that's about to finesse the modelling industry," Shahira boasted at the time in a Tweet that's now clocked up over 121K likes and 57K retweets. And true to form, in just six months, Shahira's scored her first Grazia cover. Kendall had better watch her back.
