South African eatery Walnut Grove is playing host to a new event called 'Sheroes'. The event, which will be held at their Dubai Mall outlet, will focus on female empowerment (did the name give anything away?) How, you ask? The restaurant will provide select women the opportunity to hold their own talks and events on the premises. The restaurant will, of course, be providing all the refreshments and equipment required to run the event. The sessions will also help provide women a space and platform to network - sounds like the ultimate power picnic.
It's important to have these events for women - meeting like-minded people gives women the platforms they need to voice themselves, which helps promote gender equality in the workplace, solidarity between women, and support for female entrepreneurs and female-found start-ups. Even a rudimentary economics class could tell you why this is so essential - women-led businesses positively impact economic growth and development. The Sheroes event aims to empower women and help them address barriers that they face when running businesses, thanks to unfiltered advice from other girl bosses.
