Sergio Rossi's original designs are archived at his factory in San Mauro Pascoli

With a tremendously heavy heart, we share the tragic news that renowned women’s footwear designer, Sergio Rossi had been defeated during his battle with COVID-19 in Italy at the age of 84.

“Everyone at Sergio Rossi joins me in remembering our dear Sergio, the inspiring founder of our dream. Sergio Rossi was a master, and it is my great honour to have met him and to present him the archive earlier this year. His vision and approach will remain our guide in the growth of the brand and the business” said Riccardo Sciutto, Sergio Rossi Group CEO.

The brand that bears the late shoe designer's name had previously donated 100,000 euros to the ASST Fatebenefratelli – Sacco hospital in Milan as well as 100 per cent of the proceeds from all footwear sales towards the fight against coronavirus in early March 2020.

Sergio Rossi's son, an esteemed designer who had followed his footsteps, Gianvito Rossi paid tribute to his father and shared a recent Instagram post in his memory.

Italy and the rest of the world have lost a true master of his art. Grazia Middle East has many happy memories of our time spent with Sergio Rossi in San Mauro Pascoli, and shares sincere condolences with the family and friends of Sergio Rossi and the families of the many victims who had struggled in combat against COVID-19 worldwide.
