The most hated wedding trends of 2019 have been revealed

From speeches that drag on for decades to hen parties that involve costumes and connecting flights, sometimes being invited to a wedding can seem like more of an inconvenience than an honour.

And research by British jeweller Goldsmiths has revealed that some of the most hated wedding trends of 2019 feature the two above, and then some.

In a survey of 1,000 people it found that expensive hen and stag parties were the biggest cause of annoyance and upset, with a fifth of men stating that they would prefer not to participate at all due to increasing costs.

And while the happy couple might pat themselves on the back for coming up with a pun-tastic hashtag ahead of their big day, 43.5 per cent of guests thought they were pointless.

Our other bugbears? Over a third of those surveyed expressed dislike of doughnut walls (seriously?), and nearly 40 per cent said they didn’t like to see poems on wedding invites. Noted.
