We’re not sure if you noticed, but fashion is pretty high up on Grazia’s list. It’s up there somewhere between our love of puppies and holidays, but even higher up if it’s ethical fashion. That should be explanation enough for why we’re totally excited about this app and already making space on the home screen of our smartphones.
Introducing Good On You, the ultimate dream for all do-gooders out there. The app allows users to figure out how ethical brands really are based on a rating system over a number of criteria, i.e. labour, environmental impact, and animal protection.
Not only can users assess brand ethics but also compare different brands to find whatever best fits their needs. Results can be sorted depending on what you value the most by categorising rating criteria on a spectrum from 'very important' to 'less important'.
According to Gordon Renouf, CEO of Good On You, the app aims to "translate everyday shoppers’ desire for a better world into real incentives for brands to address the issues their customers care about." About time too.
The ratings are compiled from information provided by brands as well as from analysts and certification bodies to ensure honest transparency.
Although initially released in Australia in 2015, the app has now become accessible globally for the rest of the eco-conscious community.
