Worldwide generational icon, youngest female solo artist ever to top the UK albums chart, and baggy tracksuit enthusiast, Billie Eilish has now added Eco-Warrior to her stretching list of accolades, and we’re taking note.
Eilish has just announced her first ever global arena tour, and in partnership with non-profit, REVERB, it’s set to be an eco-conscious affair. The partnership will encourage guests to bring re-usable water bottles to be refilled at water stations at shows and will prohibit plastic straws "to help create and encourage an eco-conscious environment both backstage and for her fans." A “Billie Eilish Eco-Village” will also be present at each show providing information and resources for combatting climate change.
Her decision follows in the footsteps of the likes of Glastonbury, and Live Nation, the world's largest concert promoter, vowing to eliminate single-use plastics from its venues and events by 2021.
Musicians around the world, we hope you’re taking notes.
