Lately, it seems like Nike can do no wrong. From fighting for civil rights with Colin Kaepernick, to backing Serena William's triumphant return to court with the now-iconic black catsuit, they've been championing athletes as role models. In the Middle East they're celebrating the ice princess, Zahra Lari, and mountaineering maven Manal Rostom for their local 'Dream Crazier' campaign. Designed as a woman-focused, woman-empowering campaign that supports and pushes women in sport, the brand teamed up with Nasab to deliver an event that the attendees could never forget.
The event started off with talks by the two star athletes. Both women spoke about themselves with a candour and humility that you don't often see in people who've achieved so much - Zahra spoke about how disheartened she was after not making the Olympics, but had promised herself to renew her efforts; Manal spoke about her struggle with the hijab and what accepting that part of her identity meant to her as a person, as an athlete, and as a role model. The day moved on with other fun activities like designing our own T-shirts and meditation sessions, but managed not to detract from the focal point of the event - as the slogans themselves said, "Don't change your dream. Change the world."
