2019 has been quite the year for Rihanna. Aside from debuting the first collection from her LVMH-backed Fenty fashion line, she masterminded the trailblazing Savage x Fenty show during New York Fashion Week and released a behemoth of a visual autobiography that clocks in at nearly 15lbs worth of personal photos. Not to mention, amidst all that chaos, she also managed to overtake Taylor Swift and Beyoncé in becoming the world’s richest musician. Casual.
But every time we think RiRi’s been replaced by some unstoppable, faultless cyborg, she manages to remind us that she is, in fact, still human, and vulnerable to the same issues the rest of us face.
Telling us that just about anyone is prone to the work-life balance struggle, the multihyphenate took to Instagram to apologise for her lack of communication over the past year.
“To all my friends/family/co-workers who I have yet to get back to in the past months… please forgive me,” she wrote alongside a selfie. “This year has been quite an overwhelming one, and I’m working on that ish called balance. BRB.”
With an old school “brb” to sign off, we think the singer may be hinting that she’s going to be laying low for a while. And after the year she’s had, who could blame her?
