Forget French toast and English fry-ups, Gigi Hadid’s mornings consist of classic Palestinian cuisine.
That’s right! The part-Palestinian supermodel answered some of her fans’ burning questions during a Twitter Q&A hashtagged #askgigi – one of which was what her favourite Palestinian dish is.
Her answer? “Kibbeh w labneh and tabbouleh or just simple eggs and zaatar breakfast.”
While her answer seemed innocent enough, it managed to send Twitter into chaos Kim-K-style with fans pointing out that dishes like tabbouleh aren’t Palestinian but Lebanese.
Gigi was quick to address the critics saying, “To every1 saying all of these foods are Lebanese only, My dad was born in Palestine in ‘48, where his family lived for many generations before that and ate these foods their entire lives. B4 borders & ownership of land, the region’s dishes and ingredients were always the same”
“I should also add that my family and I support many family owned Lebanese restaurants to enjoy the food we all love!” You tell 'em, Gigi.
