Earlier this month supermodel Halim Aden told Grazia that she lives by the motto, “Don’t change yourself, change the game”.
And now fresh from her appearance at Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culure Fashion Futures event where she spoke about acceptance and embracing diversity, the Somali-American model, humanitarian and proud hijabi has taken to Instagram to reiterate that her headscarf isn’t “going anywhere”.
Posting a picture of her younger self, Halima captioned the shot: “My hijab is not going anywhere.. not today, not tomorrow, not evaa. The road has been long & very painful at times but also so incredibly rewarding. I’m not asking you to stop the criticism or double standards.. I’m just asking you to see me as a human being. It’s easy to pass judgement when you’ve never walked a mile in someone’s shoes.”
We couldn’t agree more.
