In the midst of all the drama surrounding her music ownership, it was revealed that Taylor Swift would be performing at the American Music Awards last night, where she was also being honoured as the Artist of the Decade. And, with Taylor being a fan of making not-so subtle statements, she wore a white shirt-dress emblazoned with the names of the six albums owned by her ex-label.
Not only did she make a statement with her fashion choice, but she also opened her performance with The Man – a song about sexism in the industry – before singing her other hits I Knew You Were Trouble, Blank Space, Love Story, Shake It Off and Lover.
From Taylor opening with The Man and wearing the album titles and ending with Lover had me so proud of her. Her performance was great! She deserves everything. #TaylorOnAMAs #ArtistOfTheDecade #IStandWithTaylorSwift pic.twitter.com/hhO5Q86u1l— Tiffany. | LVE ON TOUR (@trt1989) November 25, 2019
Aside from the Artist of the Decade award, Taylor also walked away with Artist of the Year, Favourite Music Video, Favourite Female Artist, Favourite Pop/Rock Album and Favourite Contemporary Artist, making her the most-awarded individual in AMA history with 28 awards.
After all the drama, we’d say Taylor definitely won this round.
