Taylor Swift is more of a lover than a fighter, as seen from her heartbroken-teenage-girl anthems We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble. But she stirred away from this naïve girl façade in her previous album Reputation, where snakes, bling and shade were thrown everywhere.
Though we absolutely loved that side of Taylor, we think her new album Lover fits her a lot better and considering the amount of positivity it’s gaining, we can deduct that the rest of the world loves it too.
The world went wild after the 29-year-old launched Lover on Friday, and you’ll be shocked by the massive hype it garnered through its sales.
According to Billboard, the sales reports of the album given to Nielson Music reached 500,000 through its second day of release on Saturday, an additional 50,000 after the album clocked in 450,000 sales during the first 24-hours of release.
In just 48 hours, Lover garnered the highest sales in a week for any album since Swift’s own Reputation sold 1.216 million copies in its first week.
So we’re not convinced that industry forecasters estimated that the album will earn 700,000 in sales by the end of the week. If it already reached half a million in just two days, who’s to say that it won’t surpass 700,000 in seven days.
