On top of continuing her streak of success; starring in campaigns for brands including Fenty beauty, the Pakistani-Moroccan model has also taken on the role of activist. Just a few of Maria's causes include advocating for Syrian Women, working with the NHS to encourage young people to donate blood and in 2016 gave a global hit TEDxTeen talk, "Changing the Face of Fashion", which earned her a nomination for "Cultural Icon of the Year" at the BEAM Awards.

Since making her NYFW debut in 2016, Irish-Palestinian influencer and Founder/Editor of cult website, Mademoiselle Meme, has established herself on the world's stage as a modest street style icon.
