Dove is leading a worldwide initiative to stop the use of plastic packaging

Dove is jumping on the sustainable beauty bandwagon by switching to 100 per cent recycled plastic bottles and plastic-free alternatives, as well as creating refillable and reusable deodorant sticks that’ll come in stainless steel packaging. Said to be the biggest initiative of its kind, Dove aims to reduce the use of plastic by almost 21,000 tonnes per year by 2025.

Even the packaging for the well-known Dove bars will be created out of a zero-plastic material to ensure they’re doing everything they can to preserve our planet. While this step forward is amazing, the Dove team know they could be doing even more and aren’t afraid to admit it, as they’ve announced that they haven’t quite figured out how to re-design their caps and pumps, but they’re working on it and aim to collect and process more plastic than they sell and lessen the 12 billion tonnes of waste that will be in our natural environment by 2050.
