When Jennifer Lopez released her debut single "If You Had My Love," it wasn’t just her honeyed crooning that garnered attention. Her luminescent complexion was the talk of the ‘90s, so much that the term “J. Lo Glow” was coined in reference to the singer’s youthful skin.
Decades on and it seems ‘glow’ has become a beauty buzzword. Glass skin, glossy lips, and high-shine hair – there’s nothing the term hasn’t touched, nor a limit to the ends we would go to to achieve it.
Now, ‘glow’ is back in a low-effort, understated way. Giving us the high-shine hair we’ve always wanted, minus the multi-product haircare routine and dreaded hours of maintenance, is L’Oreal Professionnel’s new Majirel Glow treatment.
Launching this month, the hair colour service is almost like lip gloss, but for hair. Like lip gloss, the treatment provides a radiant finish with a translucent tint of colour, from hues as daring as frosted rose gold and moonshine silver, to as natural as golden caramel and deep chocolate.
According to L’Oreal, the finish is a “barely-there-colour with a whisper of tone that leaves hair looking healthy and luminous,” ideal for the natural-looking “my hair, but better” appearance - rather tempting for even the most colour cautious among us.
