Another day, another game-changing product from home-grown beauty billionairess, Huda Kattan. Not only is the new Matte Power Bullet collection made up of eight rose-toned hues that promise to combine “unparalleled pigmentation and unexpected comfort,” but with shade names including Masquerade, Ladies’ Night, Pool Party, Graduation Day, Pay Day, Third Date, Joyride and Interview, Huda’s inadvertently launched a lip colour for every day of your life.

Here Huda shares her own milestone memories, and the lipstick to match...

Pool Party

"This is Mona and I when we were living in Tennessee, where we were born and raised. I think we are about five and three in this picture. Mona and I loved to go swimming in the community pool, and it’s actually where I learned to swim. I have so many great memories of that time in my life because it was so simple."

Third Date

"This is my husband Chris and I in 2001 – we were 17 years old and had just started dating! On our first date, Chris took me to the Olive Garden, and I remember when he paid the bill I thought he was such a gentleman. I can’t remember our third date perfectly, but we used to go to Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner a lot. At the time, it was one of the fanciest restaurants in our home town so it was always a treat!"

Pay Day

"Since launching colour cosmetics in 2016, in less than three years, our brand has become one of the fastest-growing beauty brands in the world, with each and every one of our products becoming top-sellers and some becoming number one globally."

"We were competing against conglomerates with billions of dollars with no marketing budget and less than 100 people in our headquarters, telling us we didn’t have a chance," she told Business of Fashion. "How did we not only compete but dominate with so little resources? We accepted our weirdness, our need to push the industry to build something and not embrace criticism but welcome it."
