Glitter hasn't let go of its grip on beauty just yet

High-shine, megawatt glitter moments have been a staple at all levels of beauty, from the twinkling flecks of gold reigning supreme at Valentino’s SS20 runway, to any celebrity at the MET gala ever… and sometimes with questionable results. Case in point: the craft glitter we’d insist on smearing across our lids as kids.

With a myriad of holiday occasions right around the corner, all calling for a festive yet wearable look, it’s time we ask ourselves once again the age-old question: how would one wear glitter without looking like a disco ball at a fourth grader’s unicorn-themed birthday party? This time, not letting our question echo into an abyss of confusion are Instagram makeup artists with their go-to look for this fall: blurred glitter eyes. Our heroes.

Part festive, part ethereal, the look features eyes sparkling in creamy baths of dispersed metallic flecks, sometimes with colours overlapped and blended, and always absolutely dreamy. Artist Mila Bulatova adds a dash of reflective gold tone to the inner corners of the eyes for an extra hint of sparkle, while Daria swipes dark tones across her undereye as an edgy, editorial, fete-ready accent. And all it takes is the right kit which, rather handily, we’ve rounded up for you below.
